A government is a huge and complex organization, so it is rather difficult for ordinary citizens to fully comprehend its workings unless a proper public disclosure of information is madeㅡtimely and periodically. Such availability of information will prevent the government from misusing its power and this accessibility will also make the government to act more responsibly for the interests of the people it represents. However, a plethora of information on government workings would be harmful because it leaves little leeway for the government to carry on major negotiations or handle confidential national security matters. When the public is aware of those important, sensitive government jobs or events, those jobs would become widely known and hardly anything would be clandestine. In other words, an excess of information would result in threats to the government's privacy and security.
